Cliniko connection guide
Connect Cliniko in a few clear steps.
Bring your email design and let Cliniko supply the patient and appointment details. One connection gives you reminders, recalls, patient feedback, linked forms and newsletter audiences.
Cliniko uses an API key to give MyHealthFollowup access. You only need to copy it once; the steps below show you where to find it.
Create a Cliniko API key
In Cliniko, open My info under your name. Enable API keys if needed, choose Update user and confirm your identity.
Name and copy the key
Open Manage API keys, add a key and name it MyHealthFollowup. Copy it now; Cliniko only shows it once.
Paste it into MyHealthFollowup
Return to the Setup tab in MyHealthFollowup, choose Cliniko, paste the key into Cliniko API key and click Connect.
Choose your first email
Check your clinic details, then open Quick setup at the top of the dashboard. Import your design or choose a ready-made email, set its timing and send yourself a test.

Keep managing appointments and patient records in Cliniko. MyHealthFollowup checks the details needed for your emails and shows delivery and feedback in Monitoring and Logs.
Your clinicLocations, appointment types and active practitioners, so you can choose which appointments an email applies to.
AppointmentsDates, times, services, attendance and booking changes used to schedule or skip emails. Visit history is checked for first-visit follow-ups.
Patient detailsNames, email addresses and relevant communication preferences needed to personalise emails and check whether they should send.
Campaign audienceSaved contacts, marketing preferences and appointment details for choosing who receives a newsletter. Refresh the audience when details change.
Patient formsWhen your email includes a patient form link, choose the Cliniko form during setup. Each patient receives their own link.
